Definitely, Nepal is 100%
safe destination for traveler. Global partnership takes all the
responsibilities for your safety and security.

Why Volunteer work abroad?
Volunteer work abroad is the chance for you to make a personal
contribution at the global level, to experience hands-on learning about
another country, culture, language and religion, and to exchange ideas,
skills knowledge with people you might not otherwise meet it is a
life-changing experience where you share your enthusiasm, time, skills and
energy-and give "yourself" in a way that allows you to effect
positive change.
Whatever your reason -
be it to learn more about International relations, practice your
language, move beyond a vacation and travel with a purpose, or challenge
yourself through a new environment - International volunteering is sure
to be rewarding to you and to the local people with whom you work.

What kinds of programs are available in the volunteer position?
The emphasis is given on identifying assignments which utilize
individual's personal and professional goals. Please find details of the

What cost covers and does not cover?
The program cost covers:
- Administration Charge
- Airport pickup and welcome
- In country transportation
- Emergency contact and assistance service
- Accommodation and Board
- Cultural/Language and program orientation
- All project materials
- Game and group entertainment
- Injury, sickness and accident Expenses (We recommended volunteers to
have their large insurance their own Country)
The program cost does not cover:
- Airfare origin to host country,
- Visa fee
- Free-time expenses,
- Alcoholic beverages
- Personal travel
- Serious medical condition
- Personal accessories.

Should I pay for registration and membership?
The registration fee is required to run the organization with sound
management. The volunteers who want to join programs in Nepal organized by
Global Partnership do not required taking membership; all participants are
our members during our program implementation period. Global Partnership
charge US $100.00(US$ one hundred) as a registration charge per volunteer,
which is nonrefundable.

What is orientation program?
Global Partnership runs language and culture orientation class for
volunteers. This program is very useful to know culture, people,
geographic and custom of Nepal. As well as gives more details about the
project and location where you are going to involve. For more details

How long can I come for? Can I extend my stay?
You can stay 120 days on a tourist visa in Nepal but your stay varies from
project to project on our program minimum stay is 15 days and maximum is
-----months. Volunteers who wish to stay longer may choose to sign up for
additional program.
Visa extension: Extension is valid for 30 days (whether you need for a
day, a week
or whatever) that means total visa duration is up to 150 days (120 days +
30 days extension). For the extension you have to pay cost in Nepalese
rupees the equivalent of US $30 for single entry and US$ 50 for multiple
entries and you are required to show an airline ticket with a suitable
date on it, with OK status (i.e. not waitlisted).

Who organizes my flight? Do I get met at the airport?
You need to organize your flight yourself. Once you have paid your
application fee we will send you the flight details.
Yes, you will be met by a Global Partnership representative upon
arrival at the airport.

What about Visa?
Any traveler in Nepal can stay on a tourist visa for 5 months each year at
US$1 per day. You can get the tourist visa at the Nepalese embassy in your
country or at the Airport immigration up on arrival. A non-tourist visa is
difficult to obtain as well as costly. It is the responsibility of
volunteers to manage their visa. Free visa for tourist of SAARC countries
and people's of republic of China.

How can I familiarize myself with the county I will be traveling?
When you get registered for the volunteer program with Global Partnership,
you will receive a volunteer booklet that includes the detail information
about the country, people, language, lifestyle, cultural and religious
aspects and other geographical region. Other sources of information can be
found at your local library, bookstore, or internet. Please visit our
links page for great websites that will help you to get ready for your
volunteer experience.

Who volunteers on International and Nepal volunteer programs?
People of age over 18 and below 60 and from all walks of life can
provide a valuable service. Global Partnership has no language or
professional requirements for participation. Volunteers typically share
common characteristics such as flexibility, sound mental and physical
health, compassion, a sense of adventure and most important the desire to
work with and learn from local people in the host community. Volunteers
are drawn from all occupations and backgrounds and from throughout the
world

Is a Volunteer program right for me?
Global Partnership provides service-learning opportunities to all
individuals of all cultures, skills and backgrounds. You can get an answer
if you ask yourself these basic questions:
- Does my age meet the volunteer age requirements?
- Am I willing to offer my skills and interests to a community with
out being paid?
- Do I understand the need and value of working as part of a team?
- Do I enjoy learning about new cultures and unfamiliar lifestyles?
- Should I offer the helping hands for needy community?

What happens if there is an emergency?
Global Partnership staff and field representatives are fully trained to
deal with any type of emergency and all our projects are linked with
Global Partnership staff in the head office 24 hours a day. In case of an
emergency Global Partnership would link up with field members to arrange
local medical treatment or air evacuation.

What is accommodation and food like?
You have to
adjust and enjoy the local food and accommodation while you will be in
field but you need not to be worried because while providing the
accommodation and food we always consider your health and safety

How Global Partnership does make sure I'm safe while I'm in the
field?
The health and safety of all the volunteers is paramount. In view of this,
Global Partnership has complied strict systems and procedures for the
introduction of new partners and placement providing organizations, as
well as for the day to day running of volunteers in the field. Our field
staffs are very careful and on long term professional contracts leading to
a better quality of volunteer service and the supervision is done by the
supervisor.

How is the volunteer program fee used?
Program fee reflects the actual costs of establishing and maintaining the
program. 80% of the fee pays for program costs such as food, lodging,
transportation, team leader expenses, project materials, program
development and coordination, communication and on-site consultants. The
balance is used for organizational overhead.

What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel your program at least 2 weeks before the program starting
date otherwise 25% of the total program fee will be charged as a
cancellation charge. However we ask you not to apply unless you are
confident in your choice of program, site and dates. If you need to cancel
the program due to any inconvenience situation you must notify Global
Partnership in written from. (The registration fee is nonrefundable)

Do I need to have past volunteer experience?
No past experience is required for the volunteer program but for the some
program we need qualified volunteers such as health and hospital programs,
internship programs (for these programs one should of same
academic/professional qualification).

Are there any extra costs?
Global partnership does not take any extra cost except registration fee
and program fee but if you wish to extend the program it charges low cost
according o extended duration and program.

Do you provide any financial support?
No, unfortunately we are not in a position to offer any financial support
to our volunteers.

How can I pay?
You can pay your program fee either cheque payable to Global partnership
or SWIFT transfer Once we receive the conformation about your
participation on the program we forward the bank details to transfer your
fee.

Can I come with friends, family, couple or in group?
Yes, friends, family, couples and groups are welcome, but please be
aware that we can not always guarantee private accommodation. If you need
the private accommodation we will try to provide.

Are there any discount fees for a group?
We offer 5% discount in
total program fee for the group (if 2 or more than 2 volunteers are
interested in same program and location) and if you have already been on a
program before with Global partnership you will have a special discount.

How can we apply to volunteer position as a group?
Application process is same for all individual and group. Every volunteer
should complete the registration form which will indicate whether you are
in group or individual. And also the group leader needs to submit a
written application including information about each group member

How far in advanced should I apply and book the program?
As we receive the volunteers through out the year and there is no
application deadline in our program we welcome you at any time but you
should book the program 2 months before the program starting date and
should pay the program fee 30 days prior to your arrival.

Do I need insurance?
With any overseas traveling, insurance is recommended. It'd better if you
have travel insurance which also includes medical or health insurance as
part of the deal.

How do I know you are repeatable organization?
Global partnership is the most well respected and prominent international
volunteering organization in Nepal and we work with only the most
prominent organizations in the field in the field.
Global partnership is
registered in the Government of Nepal - Registration Number: 753/059/060;
and Social Welfare Council - Affiliate Number: 14765; HMG and Tax
Department Nepal - PAN: 301741143. As well as we are associated and
affiliated with many international organizations: CCIVS, IAVE, SWIFT, GWEA,
FIYTO, ASDVS/AHA, ETCi, Camphill, Saltone, ECA etc. Since 2002, we have
been serving in the field of volunteering actively
