Different Income Generating Projects: The continuation of the handicraft and embroidery project in a number of different places provides all the materials for women to make scarves, cushions, table clothes and lockets and give them salary for each item they make as well as the needed raw material. Global Partnership, with the help of its partners and friends, sell most of the materials in European countries. Tailoring Workshop: The reason to open this course is to assist women financially especially in the remote areas in this way they can support their families financially and can have more ?saving? in their personal life. After completing three months of the course, they can make clothes, etc. It is also good for there families. All of these courses are closely connected with the development of income-creating projects that are planned for the period 2006-2007, based on a market and demand analysis. A ceramics and mosaic workshop, a flower center, and a sewing studio (producing and renting wedding costumes) are to be set up, in which the women who have been trained can work and earn their living. If some courses cannot be provided by the centers, the training needed will be organized within the framework of the project, as well as basic knowledge of bookkeeping, etc. In addition, the women will be encouraged to develop their own ideas and initiatives. Herbs Production & Processing: The ever-increasing growth in medicinal herb production and consumption worldwide suggests that investment in this field is quite economical in the world. Nepal enjoys diver?s climatic conditions, which allow the growth of diver?s plant species. Furthermore, being the torchbearer of the science of medicinal herbs, Nepal possesses the knowledgeable manpower on the field. These all contribute to make the conditions ripe for investment in medicinal herbs in this country. Some species of forest and pasture lands by-products grow in large quantities in Nepal only, but due to the lack of required technology they are exported raw and in limited quantities to foreign markets The majority of medicinal herbs by-products such as, turpentine, gum tragacanth, galbanum, borage, sweet root, forest tree fruits, myrtle leaf, madder, shallot, self-grown almond and wild pistachio etc. Women Activates in Different Projects: Till now women are taken as worth working inside the house and they are not aloud to expose in other works though in some developed area and community, women are in better position but mostly they are roughly ruled by men. Women have fewer roles in decision-making and economic behavior. They are facing much domestic violence but are not able to find social or legal support. Global Partnership is carrying out some result oriented women empowerment program to create various opportunities for women in different fields. If you are interested to work in this field we are here to provide opportunity to you. Women Empowerment Project: Self Help Groups of women in Nepal have been recognized as an effective strategy for the empowerment of women in rural as well as urban areas: bringing women together from all spheres of life to fight for their rights or a cause. Since the overall empowerment of women is crucially dependent on economic empowerment, women through these SHGs work on a range of issues such as health, nutrition, agriculture, forestry, etc. besides income generation activities and seeking micro credit. Therefore, the main purpose of the Women Empowerment Project (WEP) is to organize women into effective Self Help Groups and through the medium of training Certificate Programmed "Empowering Women through Self Help Groups" The Women?s Empowerment Project will help decrease social isolation by facilitating clients? achievement and integration within their respective communities. In addition to paid staff, many volunteers, including past recipients of assistance, will be involved in providing a caring, supportive climate to facilitate the development of urban survival skills, build life-affirming friendships, build English language skills, and enhance employability. Within the framework of the Global Partnership, a "Women's Empowerment Project" (WEP) was initiated in 2002 specifically to look after mental health and improve living conditions for women who are suffering the effects of violence, in the urban area of Chitwan district, Nepal. The women are offered psychosocial care in four centers, and can also take part in various training courses and receive help in establishing income-producing activities. |
