International work camps is to enable young people from different
countries to come together and exchange ideas while engaging in a
community project and to strengthen friendship and solidarity between
Nepalese and people from worldwide.

Participating in a work camp in Nepal is very good way for people to
experience life of Nepal, which you don't often encounter as a tourist.
While staying in the village, community, or in a small town, volunteers
share every aspect of daily life.
Volunteers will have a chance to join the social activities. This is
important for better understanding and appreciation of a region, a
country, the inhabitants and cultural differences. As one of the essential
aims of international work camps is to encourage direct contact between
those involved in the project. We believe that this experience will give
you an idea about the daily life of Nepalese people and we hope you will
be able to make good use of this experience in your own country.
All of the camps are sited in safe areas and where only a positive
impact is made on the local communities and environment. Your
accommodation tents are comfortable and will have beds and mattresses and
it is likely that you will share your accommodation with another friend
throughout your stay. All food will be provided for you and you will have
an opportunity to sample the local food and hospitality.
Volunteers are expected to respect the local traditions. You may not agree
with many of these traditions, but they're an important part of local life
and you can learn something from them. Also keep in mind that while
volunteers spend a few days in the village, Global Partnership has to
establish and continue a good relationship for future work camps. Thus
volunteers are expected to behave appropriately and follow certain rules,
which are based on the local traditions. Of course, the rules are flexible
according to the location of the campsite. City placements do not require
strict rules. Further information on appropriate behavior will be given at
the orientation meeting at the beginning of each camp.
